Experience of using TSS, Level, Weather Meter, GPS, and Compass
Total Survey Station
- Operated a field TSS using the Nikon 302 Series (NPR332 or DTM-322), including centering, leveling, and using the TS to measure coordinates (northing, easting and elevation) of different geographical features, such as benchmarks, stream channel banks or heads of gulleys;
- Transfered field surveyed data in the TS to a computer;
- Processed the surveyed point data and create different GIS featureclasses, such as point, line, and polygon;
- Generated raster dataset, such as DEM, from the field surveyed point data.
Level measurements
- Gained a working experience with the principles and practice of direct leveling whereby elevations are determined using a combination of an autolevel and leveling rod;
- Created a creek profile and creek cross section, determined a creek cross section area.
