Tetiana Yurchenko, B.Sc, PG
I hold a Bachelor of Geography degree, after graduating from the top university of Ukraine in June 2018. My minor is Recreational Geography and Tourism. I dedicated three years to my undergraduate thesis project “Recreational aspects of mountaineering”, that was focused on functional opportunities of mountaineering as a recreational activity. I analyzed the connection of mountaineering and ability to adapt to the environment, as well as the role of aesthetics and environmental attractiveness. I did a survey among over 200 mountaineers to learn their motivation, including the influence of different factors on the choice of location of the destination. A comparative analysis of the perception of the mountain landscape for the gender-age structure was also carried out. |
In 2018- 2019 I was taking GIS – Geospatial Management post-graduate program (2018-2019) at Niagara College. In October 2018 obtained a Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) UAV Certificate and Radio License Certificate that gave me an exceptional experience of drone piloting and theory of flight.
As a part of my studies, I worked as a GIS Analyst (co-op position) for Geospatial Niagara to assist with Ohnia:kara Aspiring Global Geopark project. The project, that is aiming to prepare spatial materials for UNESCO Global Geopark application, had three key stones: project proposal, project progress report and final report. We also took into consideration core components of project management - work breakdown structure, budget, schedule, risks, benefits, KPIs of the project.
Right now I am working as GIS Data Technician at Fugro, Mississauga office and focusing on developing advanced Python programming skills and preparing for Esri ArcGIS Desktop Professional Certification.
